Funky Fred VH Marienshof Z (°2014), the sire of Walther W, made his international five-star debut in January 2023 under the saddle of Lars Kersten. Barely a year later, he ranked third in the 5* 1m60 Grand Prix in Amsterdam and represented the Dutch team at 5* Nations Cup classes (including in Aachen, Hickstead, and not least at the Nations Cup final in Barcelona). Rachel Penner is now writing a sequel to Funky Fred’s success story.

Karlotta belongs to a lineage full of sport. She herself is a half-sister to the international showjumper Castamir and the approved stallion Dalstar VDL. Her granddam, Hertogin, produced World Cup and Nations Cup winner Melisimo, the 5* GCT/WEG horse Olibero-D and Starlight, who jumped at 1m40 level. Melisimo, in turn, is known as the dam of the phenomenal, successful five-star showjumper Robin Hood W (Ben Maher), the 5* performer Isabella HX and Kimberly HX. Hertogin is also the granddam of a great number of international showjumpers through other daughters. Her dam, Daisy, was also represented in the international showjumping scene through Hertogin’s full sister, Ischya. Ischya is the dam of multiple World Cup winner Ulixes and Cupidor (1m60 level). What a strong sport lineage!
